Estrogen Replacement Therapy Cuts Colorectal Cancer Risk

Postmenopausal women who take estrogen replacement therapy (ERT) significantly decrease their risk of getting colorectal cancer, according to a study in the journal Diseases of the Colon and Rectum.

Researchers observed over 7,000 women from ages 44 to 98. Those women who had taken estrogen experienced 20 percent fewer incidences of cancer than women who had never taken it.
