Collaboration to Offer New Insights Into Care for Colorectal Cancer Patients

LifeMetrix Information Services has joined the Colon Cancer Alliance (CCA) in an effort to develop new insights into patterns of care and cost of care for patients with colorectal cancer.

LifeMetrix, a leader in cancer disease management, is contributing the claims history from thousands of colorectal cancer patients. The Colon Cancer Alliance, an advocacy group for colorectal cancer, is contributing its clinical insight.

"As patient advocates, we want to know as much as possible about actual treatments and patterns of care for patients with colorectal cancer," said Kevin Lewis, board chairman of CCA. He said the data warehouse of LifeMetrix "will offer us insight into patterns of care and cost of treatments heretofore unavailable to us."

"This project is important because it will be the first syndicated oncology information resources that traces the longitudinal history of colorectal cancer patients over time, across settings, across specialties, while including all forms of treatment," said Bill Dupere, Executive Vice President of LifeMetrix. "Furthermore, this report will be the first syndicated resource that documents the actual cost of care."
